I have never had one of them clip. I DJ fulltime and use only one of these per system. This is all the amp I need regardless of club size. Now they are cheaper than when I bought them, I paid twelve hundred, now they are nine fifty. Great price for a great product. Oh yeah, these babies have a 5 year warranty. Because of a specifiec issue I encountered, one of my amps blew, fried, went bye bye.(if anyone tells you hitting or smacking a microphone like a drum won't hurt anything tell then to kiss your @ss. It caused a power surge which fried my amp) I sent it back and Peavey repaired it and sent it back...free of charge. Well, I had to pay shipping. They didn't even ask for a receipt, since this series has been out less than 5 years. I run two of these actually in my PA...one to drive a pair of Yamaha C215V mains and another for monitor/subwoofer duty. It includes Peavey's DDT (Distortion Detection Technology) which will lower the volume when it detects a clipped waveform...but in my experience, the 4080Hz provides so much headroom that unless you set your gain stages all out of whack you're not likely to need the DDT (although it's nice to know it's there). I recently ran sound at an outdoor fundraiser...only had the 4080's turned up halfway and I could hear crystal clear sound a block and half down the street. I highly recommend this amp...they are reliable, powerful and a worthy aire to the legendary Commercial Series amplifiers Peavey built in the 70's. |
